Weekly Construction Updates

Waterbury - Stowe VT Route 100 Rehabilitation Project

Construction Update: October 18, 2018

Project Location:  VT 100 in the Towns of Waterbury and Stowe.

Due to the inclement weather anticipated next week, the crew will be paving on Route 100 on Friday, October 19 beginning at 7 PM and will be off the road by 6 AM Saturday, October 20.

There is approximately 1 mile of Route 100 between Moscow Road and just south of Gold Brook Road remaining to receive a second lift pavement. Many of the side road aprons have been paved heading south from Stowe and the remainder are anticipated to be completed throughout next week.

Private driveway aprons will be paved before the construction team moves out for winter. All work for the 2018 construction season is expected to be completed in advance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. The crew will return in the Spring to complete the final lift of pavement from just north of the roundabout in Waterbury to the Safety Complex in Stowe.

Paving: Friday, October 19, the paving crew will continue to pave a second lift of asphalt to complete paving operations on the Route 100 mainline between Moscow Road and just south of Gold Brook Road. Paving operation will then continue Sunday, October 21 on side road aprons. Once paving on Route 100 and all side road aprons have been completed, the crew will begin private drive aprons. All paving operations are weather dependent.

Guardrail/Shoulders: Guardrail installation operations will resume Sunday night along Route 100 in Stowe, continuing south towards Waterbury. Crews will also continue clean-up of the road shoulders, backup new pavement, and complete stone ditching and slope work throughout the week.

Traffic: Motorists may encounter several areas of one-way alternating traffic along the construction route to facilitate road, guardrail, shoulder, drive and side road apron work.

Flaggers will be present to assist motorists through the work zones. This may result in minor traffic delays. All work is weather permitting.
